In the crystalline pure light, the eye extends to the depths of unending distance. Man tends to nature and gives it his homage, determined to conserve what God has bounteously granted
New Zealand Peter Bennet
Protection of the environment, hospitality and the generosity of nature are the hallmarks that characterise a trip to New Zealand.

The Antico Presente Association will guide you in your discovery of this clean, green land as you make contact with Maori and non Maori (Pakeha) culture marked by their profound respect for the surrounding environment. Nature plays a key role in New Zealand and New Zealanders are inordinately proud of their land and their environment.
New Zealand is one of the youngest countries in the world. It has been inhabited, first by the Maori, since only the 14th Century. Despite its youth, the country is lucky enough to have a series of far sighted laws based on principle protecting the environment. Its economic and political policies have seen it at the forefront of battles against nuclear testing, whale hunting, unregulated immigration and mass tourism.
A journey of discovery on foot, on horseback and by bicycle, or even in a camper van will give you the opportunity to admire scenery and
country sides dotted with native plants like pohutukawa, manuka, ponga and toi-toi and characterized by the typical large New Zealand sheep and cattle farms ("stations"). Your gaze extends over an unpolluted landscape rolling on without end until it meets the immensity of the great Pacific Ocean.
Every trip organized by Antico Presente involves meeting families and local people. You can be put up in a range of accommodation like stays with families on working farms, guest houses and Bed and Breakfasts, all carefully chosen to meet our criteria of sustainability and local development.
